YouTube Video Analyzer

Analyze any YouTube video — regular uploads, Shorts, playlists, or live replays — to extract resolution, codec, available caption languages, chapter markers, and engagement metadata. Memories.ai parses YouTube's multi-stream format so you can compare quality tiers (144p through 4K HDR), check whether a video offers VP9 or AV1 encoding, and pull subtitle tracks in 100+ languages for translation or repurposing workflows.

Step 1: Paste the YouTube URL
Step 1: Paste the YouTube URL
Copy any YouTube link — a standard watch URL, a Shorts link, or a playlist URL. Paste it into the analyzer. Playlist URLs will queue each video for batch analysis.
Step 2: Multi-stream parsing
Step 2: Multi-stream parsing
YouTube serves separate audio and video streams at different quality tiers. We parse all of them so you can see every available combination. Subtitle tracks, auto-generated captions, and chapter markers are detected automatically.
Step 3: Compare quality tiers side by side
Step 3: Compare quality tiers side by side
View all available resolutions (144p to 4K), codecs (H.264, VP9, AV1), and container formats (MP4, WebM). See file size estimates for each tier to pick the right version for archiving or editing.
Step 4: Chat with the video using AI
Step 4: Chat with the video using AI
Ask: "Summarize this video", "What is said at the 12-minute mark?", or "List all products mentioned". Answers include timestamps so you can jump to the exact moment in the video.

FAQ

  • Can I analyze YouTube Shorts with this tool?

Yes — paste any Shorts URL and the analyzer extracts the same metadata as regular videos, including resolution, codec, and engagement stats.

  • Does it show all available quality options for a YouTube video?

Yes. YouTube serves multiple adaptive streams (DASH). We parse all of them and display every resolution, codec (H.264, VP9, AV1), and container format with estimated file sizes.

  • Can I extract subtitles from YouTube videos?

Yes — both manually uploaded captions and YouTube auto-generated captions in 100+ languages are detected. You can view them inline or export as SRT/VTT files.

  • Does it work with YouTube playlists?

Yes. Paste a playlist URL and every video in the playlist is queued for batch analysis. You can compare metadata across the entire series.

  • Do I need a Google account to use this analyzer?

No — the analyzer works with public YouTube content without any Google login. Private or unlisted videos require that you have a direct link with access permissions.

  • What is the difference between H.264, VP9, and AV1 on YouTube?

H.264 is the most compatible codec (works everywhere). VP9 offers better compression at higher resolutions. AV1 is the newest, with the best compression for 4K/HDR, but requires newer hardware to decode smoothly.
