Introduction
This API Use Policy ("Policy") governs your access to and use of the memories.ai application programming interface, including all related documentation, tools, and services (collectively, the "API"). By accessing or using the API, you agree to be bound by this Policy. If you are using the API on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation to these terms.
Permitted Use
Subject to your compliance with this Policy and any applicable agreements, memories.ai grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the API solely to develop, test, and operate applications and services that integrate with the memories.ai platform. You may use the API to retrieve, index, and process visual data as described in our technical documentation.
Prohibited Use
You may not use the API to: scrape, crawl, or harvest data in violation of our Terms of Service; attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or derive source code from any part of the platform; resell, sublicense, or redistribute API access to third parties without prior written consent; generate or distribute content that is unlawful, harmful, deceptive, or that infringes on the intellectual property rights of others; or circumvent any rate limits, access controls, or security measures.
Rate Limits & Quotas
API usage is subject to rate limits and quotas as specified in your subscription plan. Exceeding your allocated quota may result in temporary suspension of access or additional charges. We reserve the right to modify rate limits at any time to ensure fair and stable service for all users. You are responsible for implementing appropriate retry logic and exponential backoff in your integrations to handle rate-limit responses gracefully.
Authentication & Security
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your API keys and credentials. Do not share your keys publicly, embed them in client-side code, or commit them to version control repositories. You must immediately notify us if you suspect any unauthorised use of your credentials. We reserve the right to rotate or revoke API keys at any time for security reasons. All API requests must be transmitted over HTTPS.
Data Handling
Data submitted to the API is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy. You are responsible for ensuring that any personal data you send through the API is handled in compliance with applicable data protection laws, including obtaining any required consents. memories.ai may retain anonymised usage metrics to improve service quality. We do not use your proprietary data to train our models without explicit written consent.
Intellectual Property
memories.ai retains all rights, title, and interest in and to the API, including all underlying technology, models, and infrastructure. Any outputs, embeddings, or responses generated through the API are provided under the terms of your applicable subscription agreement. You retain ownership of the input data you submit. Nothing in this Policy transfers any intellectual property rights to you beyond the limited licence described herein.
Modifications to the API
We reserve the right to modify, deprecate, or discontinue any feature or version of the API at any time. Where reasonably practicable, we will provide advance notice of significant changes through our developer portal or via email to registered accounts. Continued use of the API after the effective date of any modification constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms. We recommend subscribing to our developer changelog to stay informed of updates.
Limitation of Liability
The API is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, memories.ai shall not be liable for any damages arising from downtime, data loss, or errors in API responses. We do not warrant that the API will be uninterrupted, error-free, or suitable for any particular purpose. Your sole remedy for dissatisfaction with the API is to discontinue use and terminate your account.
